Sustainable Travel
TLC is deeply aware of potential environmental, social, and cultural impacts. Our approach entails making deliberate decisions to empower local communities, safeguard natural resources, and uphold cultural heritage, all while offering meaningful and authentic travel experiences.
Embracing Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility
At the heart of our brand’s identity lies Eco-Friendly Travel management. TLC’s strategic vision prioritizes inclusive economic growth. By voluntarily aligning ourselves with global and regional standards, including the UN 17 Sustainable Development Goals, the UN Global Compact’s ten principles, GRI Standards, IIRC frameworks, SIDS, and the S.A.M.O.A Pathway, we transcend mere compliance with national regulations.
Our commitment extends to advancing humanity. We proudly hold membership in the esteemed GRI Gold Community.
Ray of Light
Our “Ray of Light” initiative orchestrates numerous projects that uplift marginalized individuals and communities. Aligned with various Sustainable Development Goals, including No Poverty, Zero Hunger, Good Health & Well-Being, Quality Education, Gender Equality, Clean Water and Sanitization, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Reduced Inequalities, and Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions, we collaborate with dedicated NGOs.
Together, we provide quality education to underprivileged children, offer healthcare to those in need, empower women and girls through gender equality initiatives, guide disabled individuals toward self-sufficiency through sports and IT projects, and more.
Tread Lightly
“Tread Lightly,” is TLC’s flagship environmental project, garners local and global recognition as a comprehensive platform for Climate Change mitigation and adaptation. Encompassing renewable energy and biodiversity conservation initiatives, this endeavour corresponds to a range of Sustainable Development Goals. We proudly promise our guests a 100% carbon-free stay, inviting them to participate voluntarily with a contribution of 1 Euro per night.
“Tread Lightly” has surpassed a million participating guest nights and offset 97,000 tons of CO2 through UNFCCC-registered projects. An initial pilot Solar PV project at Ile Des Deux Cocos in Mauritius is already making strides in reducing diesel usage and emissions. Furthermore, a Solar PV project of at least 500MWp in the Maldives is in progress to reduce our ecological footprint.
